- Registration Categories: The ERB has three main categories for registration: Graduate, Registered, and Professional.
- Graduate Category Requirements:
- A diploma, advanced diploma, technology degree, or a degree in any recognized engineering discipline.
- Less than four years of post-qualification experience in the engineering discipline for registration.
- Registered Category Requirements:
- A diploma, advanced diploma, technology degree, or a degree in any recognized engineering discipline.
- More than four years of post-qualification experience.
- Inability to demonstrate all the required competencies for professional registration.
- Professional Category Requirements:
- A diploma, advanced diploma, technology degree, or a degree in any recognized engineering discipline.
- More than four years of post-qualification experience.
- Temporary Category Requirements
The Temporary category is for expatriate engineering professionals who are not ordinarily residents of Botswana and do not hold a residence permit of six months or more. Only individuals with more than four years of post-qualification experience are eligible for registration under this category. Expatriate graduates without sufficient professional experience will not be considered for registration.
