Are you ready to take your competence level to the next level? The Engineers Registration Board (ERB) invites ALL Engineers, Technologists, And Technicians registered with ERB in the Graduate and Registered categories to participate in the mentoring program.

What Is the Program About?

The Initial Professional Development (IPD )  is designed to assist in developing structured training and development programs that will enhance professional engineering competencies. Whether you’re a recent graduate or have been working for a period of more than 4 years, our mentors will guide you toward enhancing your competencies to become a Professional.

Who Is a Mentee?

A mentee should be any person registered with ERB in the categories of Graduate (Engineer/Technologist/Technician), or Registered (Engineer, and Engineering Technologist or Technician).

The program is designed to run for at least 4 years, with reporting periods every 6 months.

Who is a mentor?

The Mentor should be an ERB member who is registered in the professional category and has a valid practicing certificate.

  • They must have a minimum of 2 years of work experience after obtaining professional designation.
  • They must be familiar with the subject area of the mentee that is have the same discipline area as that of the mentee.
  • Mentors could be in the same organisation as the mentee or external, as long as they will satisfy all program requirements.
  • They must be approved by ERB as potential mentors

 

NB: For a mentorship relationship to be recognised by ERB, it should have had a contract submitted to ERB prior to the commencement of the mentoring relationship.
